Who is Enedis? Enedis, electricity distributor throughout French territory
You may know Enedis better under its former name, ErDF (Électricité Réseau Distribution France). It is not an energy provider, but the manager of the public electricity distribution network across most of France (excluding certain local distribution companies). This means Enedis works with each provider to ensure a reliable and high-quality electricity supply to all French households. As the only entity responsible for electricity distribution on the majority of the territory, Enedis has numerous prerogatives: meter readings; opening electricity meters; network connection; troubleshooting in case of power outages… So it's likely that, one day or another, you’ll deal with the network operator for one reason or another.
